AW-D310
Addressable Zone Module
The AW-D310 is an addressable zone module that serves as a bridge between conventional fire detectors and an intelligent addressable fire alarm control panel.
This allows you to connect standard, more cost-effective detectors to a modern addressable system.
Key Features
- Conventional Integration: Connects up to 25 to 30 conventional detectors in parallel as a single addressable point on the loop.
- Non-Polar Wiring: Features non-polar two-wire connections for the signal loop to simplify installation.
- LED Status Indicator: The built-in inspection indicator blinks every 12 seconds during normal monitoring and remains steadily lit when an alarm is triggered.
- Electronic Addressing: Configured using an external electronic handheld programmer/coder, eliminating physical DIP switches.
How It Works and Key Capabilities
- Integrates Conventional and Addressable Technologies: This module acts as a translator, converting signals from conventional detectors into a digital format the addressable panel can understand. This makes it an excellent choice for upgrading older systems where replacing all detectors is not desirable or for new installations that need a mix of both technologies.
- Monitors for Integrity: The AW-D310 constantly supervises the conventional detector branch it controls. It can detect faults like open circuits or short circuits on that line, ensuring the system's reliability
- Simplifies Commissioning: It uses electronic addressing, which can be set with a handheld programmer, eliminating the need for manual DIP switches. This can speed up the installation and commissioning process.
