Addressable Loop Isolator Module
The AW-D314 is an addressable Loop Isolator Module designed for use in addressable fire alarm systems. Its primary function is to protect two-wire signaling loops against short-circuit faults.
When a short circuit occurs anywhere on the loop, the AW-D314 isolates the faulty segment while allowing remaining devices on the network to continue operating normally. Once the wiring issue is repaired, the module automatically reconnects the isolated loop segment back into the system without requiring a manual reset.

- Short-Circuit Protection: Instantly isolates the short-circuited portion of the signaling bus to prevent localized wiring faults from disabling the entire loop or damaging the main control panel board.
- Automatic Reset: Automatically detects when the short circuit has been resolved and restores connection to the isolated segment.
- Status Indication LED: Features a status LED (yellow) that flashes during normal polling and illuminates continuously when actively isolating a fault, facilitating quick fault location during troubleshooting.
- System Capacity Support: Designed to handle up to 32 addressable field devices per isolator zone/segment.

- Placement: AW-D314 isolator modules are usually installed at regular intervals along an addressable loop (e.g., between floor zones, room zones, or every 20–30 devices) and at the loop entry/exit points near the panel.
